v17 - Ambibox addon not workin in Kodi /black border detection ambilight

Ambibox is working fine on my pc.
But the addon for some reason isn't.

Is there any other way to add black border detection in Kodi?

Beta - Up Next

Introducing Up Next

Up Next is a replacement for my previous Next Up addon, in essence it does the same but the big difference is the addon can now easily integrate with other video addons bypassing the dependency on having to have episodes in your local kodi database.

There are four possible windows that may be shown, two versions of the up next window (fancy/simple) and two versions of the still watching window (fancy/simple)

Currently this is still in BETA and I would appreciate testing with feedback reported. Note only the native kodi database is supported along with these video addons 

Install

As this is not yet submitted to the Kodi repo please install the latest release version (assure to uninstall the old next up addon if it is installed), the following skins have custom windows.

Skin Helper Widgets Service Error

I am having an error every time the skin (estuary mod v2) loads. This has just started happening recently. Looking at the log file I'm not sure what the problem is. Any advice would be appreciated. The service begins being mentioned on line 311.

Skin Helper Service Error

I've updated the Emby add-on to the latest beta today and I immediately got the Skin Helper Service Error whenever my skin is supposed to show the alphabet for easy access/navigation. Updating, reinstalling and uninstalling doesn't fix the issue.
I think it's supposed to show in the log file, but I'm not all too familiar with it so I hope I got things right.

Using MySQL and Trakt Plugin

Hi,
I have a Vero 4K, Vero 4K+ running OSMC. For a long time I’ve been using MySQL set up on my server to synchronize between the devices, and it works well, easy to replace or set up a new device.
Now, I have a couple of IPADs running MrMC / Infuse and sometimes use Plex as well, and would like to synchronize the watched status as well.
I am not entirely clear on how it’s supposed to work. Upon initial installation of Trakt on a Vero 4K, the Trakt account got populated with the watched status - so far so good.
I’ve also set up the Trakt plugin to update the status after every library update.
However nothing seems to be happening after the initial setup on the trakt account when I mark something in OSMC watched / not watched.
If someone knows how it’s all supposed to work together I’d appreciate an explanation, as I’m afraid I’ll wake up one day with the MySQL and Trakt all messed up.

Database Indexes - IMDb and Trakt WatchList

I am not sure this right place to post. We have multiple installations of Kodi with same add-ons using Trakt and IMDb Watchlists that are different on each system using the same username. Today, I found trying to link Trakt in one addon it displays the name of another add-on. The main issue is that most of my Track and IMDb watch list programs have disappeared. I tried to manually add them back but that only partly works. TongueHuh

Alpha - Last Played service addon

I've created my first addon - Last Played. The addon remembers last video file played and on the next Kodi start opens the directory with this file and focus it.

I tested the addon with Kodi v.15.2 - works well and with Kodi v.17.2 - the directory is opened, but the file is not focused (I've hardcoded the list control - 50 - and looks like another control id is used in latest Kodi versions). 

Would appreciate if somebody reviews the code and advise what should be changed/optimized.

How to reload addon settings?

Hello,

In my Addon i use the method onSettingsChanged. The method will be correct invoked but i get the old values from getSetting, though i changed the values in the configuration-dialog. Only if i restart KODI, i get the new values. However the file self 'settings.xml' respect the change immediately. My question is, how can i force to reload the settings?

Example:
def onSettingsChanged(self):
    xbmc.log('Settings changed', xbmc.LOGDEBUG)
    curVal = xbmcaddon.Addon().getSetting('myValue')
    xbmc.log('Current Value: %s' % curVal, xbmc.LOGDEBUG)

nVidia Shiled with Kodi 17.6 and Hue Ambilight addon

Hi,

I am using a Shield with Kodi 17.6 (not SPMC) and the hue ambilight addon, everything on the latest versions. I disable the Mediacodec Surface acceleration (I leave only the "simple" Mediacodec option on) in order for the hue lights to work. In my kodi userdata folder there wasn't an advancedsettings.xml file, so I created one using notepad and copied it to the folder using the following guide:

The lights start to operate at the beginning of the movie but don't change colors, they just stick the their first color. 2 questions:

1: Am I doing something wrong? Does this xml file work only with SPMC and not Kodi?
2: Since I don't really observe any problems with the playback on movies (even remux ones) with Mediacodec Surface off, do I really need this option on? Does it affect other kind of files like 4K ones?

How to view Movie files from External HDD

Hi
I have a 1TB External HDD with numerous MP4 format Movie files. The Format of this HDD is NTFS. I have connected this HDD to a smart TV in my living room where i can view the movies. However i want to be able to view these movies on my old TV in my bedroom via Kodi v16, which is installed on a Firestick. The reason is that my old TV does not pick up the HDD if i connect to its USB port as i believe the format of the drive is the issue. NTFS vs FAT32!!!. Is there any way I can do this via my home network with the settings in Kodi.

Libcec no longer working Pulse-eight

Hey All,

I have a pulse eight adapter on my Intel NUC. However after upgrading to LIbreElec 9.0 my tv remote no longer works. It's a samsung tv where the CEC settings are still enable and nothing has changed there.
When i click onto settings, system, peripherals libcec no longer shows making me a little worried about why this could be occurring.

Here's a long and i tried to enable verbose on libCEC but nothing seems to show up.

How to enable Windows network (smb) share on Kodi 18.1

Hello everybody,

I made a lot of research to know how to install the smb addon, which are missing on the network location menu (only NFS is available).
I cannot find how to enable this feature clearly.
I want to have an access to my Nas server.

I install kodi on my smart TV and it works correctly (smb sharing was already available).

But on my Xbox it's not the case...

For information :kodi 18.1 Git:20190217-8cfdc895f3.

Could you please help me ?

xmbcgui.WindowXMLDIalog does work with a list of Listitems

My addon was developed under V17.6 and creates a main window (windowXMLDialog) that utilizes a ControlList in the xml file.
It works perfectly under V17.6 but under V18.0 the list items are not displayed.

Essentially my python GUI code does the following using two items as an example below in the onInit function:


ilist=

for i in range(2):

  item=Listitem()

  #create properties here

   .

   .

   .

  # add Listitem object to iList

  iList.append(item)



#add iList to window list

self.addItems(iList)



self.setCurrentListPosition(0)

self.setFocusId(LISTCONTROL_ID)

I used Web-Pdb to attempt to debug the problem after loading data into the window list.
Interactively I ran the self.getCurrentListPosition() function and -1 was returned.
Under V17.6 the value 0 (zero) is returned.
Interactively running self.getListSize() returns the correct number of items in the list.

Is there a reason why the list is not being displayed under V18.0 but will display under V17.6?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

NFO Updater for Rating

Hello

Which I have got working, thank you Karellen

However I am wanting the same NFO update through Kodi for ratings for a bespoke TV show which isnt on tvdb, I have made NFOs in Ember and basically want to watch.  Press 'i' and select my rating... 1 to 10.  I then want it to write the rating to the NFO.  So next time I install Kodi on my QNAP then I can just import these series and NFOs.

That is what I want to do and why, does anyone know of a plugin to fulfill the above?

Roku IP control emu

Like many, I use Harmony hubs to control Kodi installs around the house. I stumbled on a Roku IP control emulator script a bit ago they I edited a bit and have running on a computer in my network that will restart Kodi in a button press in that Roku emulator. This Roku emulator can be seen and controlled from the Harmony hub, as it sees the emulator running as a roku4. Since that seems to work, I was wondering if there was any sort of Roku IP control emulator built for Kodi that I'm not seeing. I use Bluetooth generally but one of my boxes Bluetooth gets flakey at times requiring a reboot. My solution currently works too fix that as I can send a command from my Harmony remote through the running Roku instance a reboot command, however I was wondering if it may be more elegant to just have an add-on that gives Roku IP control for the Harmony hub. Any thoughts or opinions? The Roku 4 emu is a simple python script so I thought maybe with a bit of work it could be a sort of service script.

TeamWatch is a Kodi addon that allows you to watch TV in "social" way with friends, you can send messages that are displayed in a bar at the bottom of the TV,
you can send an url and start the same video to a group of friends and watch it together, and other things like that.
If someone wants to join the group and act as a betatester, they can download it from https://www.teamwatch.it
In the site and addon settings you can enter two ID the first one allows you to send commands and messages to your addon, the second one allows you to share commands
with other users, if we watch the same video in a group, it allows us to synchronize the video, pause, etc. for all users who share the same ID
The messages are sent based on a "feed" which is a kind of channel for example if you are watching "Game of Thrones" add the feed #got and you will receive all the messages
sent to that feed.

Screen Helper Service Widget Error

Hello, I'm encountering this error quite frequently.

I have a fresh install of Kodi 18.1, AndroidTV (NVIDIA Shield) - I installed the Aura Mod skin and Amazon VOD.

I tried making sure that I have the latest version of the script from Marcelveldts repository, and I have manually checked all of the dependencies to make sure that they are updated as well - I'm still getting the error.

v18 - Controlling subtitles and audio from an addon and opening their settings window

Hi everyone!

I was wondering whether there's a way to open the audio and subtitle settings window from an addon.
The windows which you can access while a movie is playing.
I guess it has to be done with ActivateWindow, but I could not find the window Id for these.

I was also wondering what the best way is to programatically select the next subtitle from an addon.
Current'y I'm doing xbmc.executeJSONRPC and execute the Player.SetSubtitle command, because for that you can pass 'on', 'off', 'next', 'previous'.
However is there a better way to do it?

I'm writing an addon for Kodi v18.
